YES WE CAN!

I am stoked about the decision for numerous reasons.

January couldn't come sooner.

Btw...I saw this little thing going on. And I ordered one.

It's a sticker of Shepard's "Yes We Did—Victory!" designed to remember the great Obama victory. And it's completely free, even the shipping. Want one? Just click here:

Just thought I'd put in a shameless plug.

I hope the Obama administration goes forward with legislation to drive the US auto industry to release more fuel efficient cars. Not just for environmental reasons but to encourage investment in new technologies and to make US cars more competitive in other markets whose fuel prices are up to 5x more expensive (Norway, Denmark, and the rest of Europe in general).

Every day the US throws away 130,000 computers and every year 100 million cell phones are thrown away. They are all filled with highly toxic heavy metals like lead, mercury, and cadmium. The plastics that surround computer monitors are halogenated so that they are fire resistant. The problem is the fact that you can't get rid of it, when the plastic is burned it creates highly toxic dioxins that pollute the environment. When burned, computer plastic basically gives off Agent Orange, a well known carcinogen. All of our high tech waste is simply dumped onto 3rd world places like Guiyu and places in Africa.

If Obama really cared about the environment he would support the Basel Ban. Write to your senator to bug him or her to support the Basel Ban agreement.
